Hello, I use Plex media server for remote video streaming and it works just fine. the only configuration that I had to do was change my Ip address under [ setting, network, and internet, network connections, right click on wifi, (TCP/IPv4)properties] and I had to switch from obtaining an IP automatically, to use the following: So I looked in my router setting and looked for IP,S that is currently being used and choose one that wasn’t being used ex; 192.168.?.?. Like i said everything works. but my question is,1) Is the address that I chose considered a static Ip or a local IP. Is static and local IP, S the same thing?2) what is the relationship between External IP and Dynamic IP?3) Is my setup with setting a Static IP for my laptop with the Plex server, still assigned an Ip by my network provider, when I surf the web or does it use my static IP to communicate across the internet?Sorry for the scattered Question, I tried my best to describe thoughts. Thanks!!
